These are some pictures from one of my summer project trips. In Kyrgyzstan, I designed and built (with a lot of help from my friends) a recording studio for Kyrgyz musicians.

Things That Interest Me:
Any place with good lighting (There's a compelling photo opportunity in very place you go; however, not every compelling photo opportunity comes with decent lighting.)
Any music that is very good (There's very good and very bad music in very genre). I especially like finding really good music that most people have yet to hear.
Anybody who can really tell his/her life story. (Nobody's life is boring; you just have to ask the right questions. Unfortunately, life's too short to figure out the right questions to ask some people.)
Better, yet: A great picture that tells a great story while exotic music plays.
e.g., One of my favorite pictures from my time in Istanbul: a cat on the window sill, listening to the call to prayer.
Usually, it's a cat on the inside looking out. Why is this cat on the outside? Is it a stray wishing for a home? Is it a pet who was accidently shut out? Or did the owner put it out to teach it a lesson?
(The picture was taken shortly after the great earthquake of 1999. I suspect that the cat may be a little fearful of going back inside.)
